Paver sealer protects your newly installed bricks from premature fading due to sun exposure. It also helps keep your pavers cleaner longer, prevents the absorption of oils and stains, and brings out the true colors in your brick pavers by giving them a wet look.
In most new paver installations, we recommend waiting a minimum of four weeks, sometimes longer, before sealing the pavers. As you know, the South Florida sun can really beat down; this breaks down the solids in the sealer, causing the sealed effect to diminish over time. Because of this fact, we recommend the sealer be re-applied every year or two. Pressure washing and sealing can also rejuvenate old pavers that haven’t been cleaned or sealed in a long time. The wet look the sealer brings to the pavers really accentuates the true color blends.
BENEFITS OF SEALING PAVERS
Although it’s best to seal soon after installation, our professional cleaning, restoring, and sealing process will also bring back the original luster to old, dirty, and fading pavers. Sealing is the final step in a comprehensive process.
BENEFITS OF RESTORING AND SEALING PAVERS
Sealing your pavers is the most beneficial thing you can do to ensure they last longer, ward off stains, and maintain their beauty. If you choose not to seal your pavers they may suffer the effects of erosion, weed growth, mold or mildew build-up, discoloration, and can become loose.
After a new paver installation, or after pressure washing an older paver area and re-sanding, a paver sealer should be applied to waterproof the surface and protect it from outdoor elements. Harsh UV rays, direct sun exposure, snow melt products and forceful rains can break down your paver surfaces. It is important to protect your investment by properly maintaining your pavers to provide long-lasting wear.
Pavers have become very popular for use in patios, porches, pool decks, sidewalks and driveways and can enhance the beauty of your property. They come in many shapes, sizes, and colors, and can be configured in many designs. When considering the cost a paver installation, keep in mind that there is routine maintenance that will be needed to maintain their beautiful finish.
Keep ahead of the game by sealing new pavers to help create a more durable structure because the sealer solidifies joint sands and locks the pavers together. Paver sealer also retards joint sand erosion by creating a weather barrier. Some paver sealers can provide a glossy sheen or "wet" look which many homeowners like. Not only do these brick paver sealing products enhance the natural beauty of the pavers with a shiny gloss look, but they also waterproof and protect against the elements.
Paver sealer can also keep your pavers cleaner. When pavers are sealed, the sealer fills up the pores of the pavers making any dirt that hits the surface stay on the surface and not penetrate the paver.
Pavers should be resealed every 3 to 4 years on average. You will know when your pavers need to be resealed because water will stop beading on the surface and the sheen will diminish. In addition, you may notice weeds starting to grow in between joints and the pavers may start to lose their color.
When starting a new brick paver repair project, it is important to first identify the root cause of the damage. Afterward, we take great care in disassembling the existing brick paver structure and reassembling in a manner which provides an “as new” appearance and prevents the reoccurrence of the existing problem
Extreme care is taken in the dismantling process to ensure reuse of your brick pavers. All original pavers are then reinstalled with new base aggregate material, leveling sand and edge restraints. Brick pavers are then plate compacted and polymeric sand is re-applied to the joints, providing a stable and robust final support structure.
