In most new paver installations, we recommend waiting a minimum of four weeks, sometimes longer, before sealing the pavers. As you know, the South Florida sun can really beat down; this breaks down the solids in the sealer, causing the sealed effect to diminish over time. Because of this fact, we recommend the sealer be re-applied every year or two.  Pressure washing and sealing can also rejuvenate old pavers that haven’t been cleaned or sealed in a long time.  The wet look the sealer brings to the pavers really accentuates the true color blends.

Pavers should be resealed every 3 to 4 years on average. You will know when your pavers need to be resealed because water will stop beading on the surface and the sheen will diminish. In addition, you may notice weeds starting to grow in between joints and the pavers may start to lose their color.
